Throughout the month of December, I’ll be writing a post a day for the fabulous project Reverb 12. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s wrapping up and using the fruits of that reflection to shape the year ahead – in other words, exactly the kind of thing I love to think about! So, without further ado, here’s today’s prompt.
Do-Over: Of the things that happened this year, if you had the chance to do X all over again, what would it be?
I suspect this isn’t what the originator had in mind, but I’m interpreting do-over as “things I would do again because I loved them so much.” I don’t think there’s any reason for a tabula rasa this year, a fact for which I am infinitely grateful.
Things I would do again, no question:
- take the kids to Baxter State Park, to be in the great outdoors without amenities or phone service
- build a raised bed
- grow my own food
- visit art museums
- go to concerts
- provide kids with adult-quality art supplies
Have I mentioned how much I love reframing? I do. It’s immensely powerful to be able to turn “so bad you need to start again” into “so good that you want to repeat the experience.”
